History

WorldTour Team KATUSHA
In late 2008 Team KATUSHA was created by Igor Makarov as the first Russian cycling team licensed to compete at the highest level of cycling in the UCI WorldTour, formerly known as the ProTour. Mr. Makarov is the president of ARETI International Group of Companies, president of the Russian Cycling Federation and a member of the UCI Management Committee.

In the very first racing season of 2009, UCI ProTour Team KATUSHA took its place among the elite of professional cycling.
During Team KATUSHA’s seven season from 2009-2015 at the highest level of cycling competition, the team has won 192 races along with 344 podium places, establishing the team as one of the three best professional cycling teams worldwide in 2012, 2013 and 2015, placing second in 2012 and 2015 as well as third in 2013 in the UCI WorldTour team’s ranking.
For Team KATUSHA, 2015 was a record breaking season. In ten months KATUSHA’s riders won 40 races and scored over 100 podium places in all, claiming 40 victories, 28 second places and thirty-five third places. For the first time in the team’s history, Team KATUSHA’s leader Alexander Kristoff became the most winning rider in the world, scoring 20 victories during the season.
2016 sees the eighth season of the WorldTour Team KATUSHA. After 7 years of progressive development, we embark on an exciting time to change direction, face new challenges and to set new goals.
Beginning now, Team KATUSHA is more than a professional cycling team – it is a new phenomenon in cycling. It is a brand which in short time will become synonymous with success in both sport and business.
